Danijela Dolenec was born in Zagreb in 1977. She is an Associate Professor of Comparative Politics at the Faculty of Political Science, she received her Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Administration from the London School of Economics in 2005 and her Doctorate in Political Science from ETH Zürich in 2012. She acquired additional education during study visits at Harvard and Oxford universities, winning several prestigious scholarships and two science awards. She is one of the founders of Zagreb is OURS! (Zagreb je NAŠ!) and We can! (Možemo!) and programme coordinator for both platforms. She is the founder and long-running president of Group 22 (Grupa 22), the founder of the Institute for Political Ecology and was the President of its Management Board from 2014 to 2018. Danijela Dolenec was elected Deputy Mayor of the City of Zagreb on 30 May 2021 in direct election as the candidate of the We can! (Možemo!) – Zagreb is ours! – New Left (Nova ljevica )– Green Alternative ORaH (Zelena alternativa ORaH) – For the City (Za grad) coalition.
